The language that connects Vanuatu
Vanuatu has more than 100 local languages. Bislama is the one almost everyone shares โ spoken in markets, churches, offices and on the radio from Port Vila to Luganville.
It's an official language alongside English and French, and much of its vocabulary comes from English โ so English speakers often pick it up surprisingly fast.
